November 7, 2009 - STATE TOURNAMENT
On Saturday, Aaron Dinzeo competed in the OHSAA Cross Country Championships at Scioto Downs in Columbus. Aaron finished 5th overall out of 150 total runners and 16 teams. Aaron's 5th place finish was in a time of 16:02 as he earned All-State Honors, as well as, an Academic All-State Honor for his outstanding academic achievement as a scholar athlete.

October 31, 2009 - REGIONAL TOURNAMENT
On Saturday, Aaron Dinzeo competed in the Regional Cross Country Meet at Troy. He finished in 16:06 and earned 3rd place honors. Click here for complete Regional Tournament results.

October 24, 2009 - DISTRICT TOURNAMENT
Sidney 7th
Despite the wind, very cold temperatures and a extremely muddy course, the runners put out their best efforts and ran great races. In the guy's race the boy's team finished 7th overall with an average team time of 19:23. Aaron Dinzeo led the Yellow Jackets with a 2nd place finish in a time of 16:51. Aaron's finish also advanced him to the Regional Meet in Troy this Saturday. Congratulations, Aaron! Jon Clinard came in next for Sidney, finishing 43rd overall in a time of 19:40, Gavin Spangler was 47th in a time of 19:58, Phil Cook was 52nd with 20:12, Alex Bowman was 55th with 20:16, Grant Evans was 56th with 20:18, and Wes Jones was 76th with 21:05. This was the last race of the day and the course was in very rough shape. Despite, the boy's team ran very strong, proving that can be competitive against the top schools in the conference. Congratulations on a great season, guys, and job well done!

October 17, 2009 - Greater Western Ohio Conference Championships
Sidney 3rd
The Men's team placed 3rd overall in the North Division with an average team time of 19:04. Aaron Dinzeo led the team and won the overall Men's race which earned him the title of GWOC Runner of the Year. Aaron also placed first and earned First Team All-Conference Honors in a time of 16:13, Jon Clinard just missed All-Conference honors by one place and came in 15th with a time of 19:31, Wes Jones was 16th with a personal best of 19:37, Grant Evans was 23rd with 19:55, Gavin Spangler was 24th with 20:01, Alex Bowman was 26th with 20:43, Phil Cook was 30th with 22:04, Willie Clark was 30th with a personal best of 23:09, John Cook was 33rd with 23:10, and Will Wallis was 36th with 25:34. Way to go guys!

October 10, 2009 - Centerville Stampede
Sidney 16th at 404
The boy's team placed 16th overall with an average team time of 19:48. Leading the Jackets was Aaron Dinzeo finishing in second place with 16:57.13, Phil Cook was 89th with 20:13.96, Jon Clinard was 97th with 20:25.40, Wes Jones was 100th with 20:28.10, Gavin Spangler was 116th with 20:51.44, Alex Bowman was 119th with 21:10.78, John Cook was 136th with 23:56.72, and Willie Clark was 175th with 24:59.55. October 3, 2009 - Botkins Invitational
Sidney 10th
The Boy's team finished 10th of 14 with Jon Clinard leading the Jackets. Jon finished 54th with 19:27, Phil Cook was 57th with 19:29, Wes Jones was 63rd with 19:47, Alex Bowman was 67th with 19:54, Gavin Spangler was 82nd with 20:26, John Cook was 107th with 21:49, Willie Clark was 138th with 24:17, and Alex Hale was 140th with a Personal Best of 24:44. Way to go, guys!

September 26, 2009 - Sidney Invitational

In the Boy's race, the team finished 5th overall with an average time of 18:23, the best team average time of the year. Additionally, everyone on the Boy's team also ran a personal best time for the year! Leading the Yellow Jackets was Aaron Dinzeo. Aaron placed first, while also setting a new school record and finishing with the fastest Male Senior time of the day earning him a medal. Aaron's time and new school record is 15:32! Congratulations Aaron!!! Jon Clinard finished next on the Boy's team placing 25th in a time of 18:52, Phil Cook was 27th with 19:01, Marshal Evans was 30th with 19:13, Alex Bowman was 32nd with 19:16, Wes Jones was 40th with 19:41, Gavin Spangler was 44th with 19:54, John Cook was 67th with 21:46, Willie Clark was 80th with 23:39, and Will Wallis was 84th with 24:12. September 19, 2009 - Graham Invitational
Sidney 11th
Sidney finished 11th overall with their team's season's best average time of 18:57. Leading the guy's was Aaron Dinzeo who finished 2nd overall and set a new school record of 15:56, Jon Clinard was 62nd with 19:35, Marshall Evans was 64th with 19:37, Phil Cook was 69th with 19:46, Alex Bowman was 75th with 19:53, Wes Jones was 83rd with 20:12, Gavin Spangler was 98th with 20:45, Will Wallis was 147th with 24:29, John Cook was 148th with 24:36, and Alex Hale was 156th with 25:52. Great effort by all the guys!

September 15, 2009 - Fort Loramie Invite
Sidney finished 9th of 15 teams with an average team time of 19:20.
Aaron Dinzeo finished 2nd overall with 15:58, Jon Clinard was 48th with 19:32, Marshal Evans was 58th with 19:55, Wes Jones was 74th with 20:30, Alex Bowman was 82nd with 20:46, Gavin Spangler was 93rd with 21:11, Phil Cook was 96th with 21:15, John Cook was 130th with 23:08, Willie Clark was 155th with 25:34 and Will Wallis was 166th with 27:34.

September 9, 2009 - Fairborn Skyhawks Invitational
The Boy's team finished 7th of 13 with an average time of 19:55. Aaron Dinzeo lead the way with another first place finish in a time of 16:36 and remains undefeated so far this season. Following Aaron was Jon Clinard in 57th with 20:32, Alex Bowman in 61st with 20:37, Phil Cook in 66th with 20:45, Grant Evans in 72nd with 21:04, Gavin Spangler was 84th with 21:23, Wes Jones was 89th with 21:29, John Cook was 165th with 24:34, Willie Clark was 176th with 25:37, Will Wallis was 178th with 25:39 and Alex Hale was 189th with 27:21. Way to go, guys!

September 5, 2009 - Treaty City Invitational
Sidney 17th
This is the second largest cross country invitational in the state of Ohio and coming away with both the Division One Varsity Boy's first place finish and the fastest male time of the day was Aaron Dinzeo with 16:02! Congratulations Aaron! Overall in the Boy's race, Sidney finished 17th with an average time of 19:25. Jon Clinard was the second Yellow Jacket to cross the line in 92nd place with 19:26, Grant Evans in 109th with 19:58, Phil Cook in 131st with 20:48, Gavin Spangler in 132nd with 20:54, Alex Bowman in 136th with 21:19, John Cook in 151st with 24:02, Willie Clark in 197th with 25:28 and Will Wallis in 198th with 25:35. Also, In the boy's reserve race Wes Jones placed 94th with 21:14. Great efforts by the guy's team!

September 1, 2009 - Shelby County Preview
Sidney 8th
Aaron Dinzeo taking first place and winning the meet in a time of 16:26. Aaron's time also earned him the award of fastest grade level time. Congratulations Aaron! The Boy's team placed 6th overall with an average time of 19:07. Aaron Dinzeo won the Boy's Division One race in a time of 16:05. Congratulations Aaron! Jon Clinard finished 33rd in a time of 19:34, Phil Cook was 36th with 19:46, Alex Bowman was 39th with 19:57, Marshal Evans was 44th with 20:16, Gavin Spangler was 54th with 20:51, John Cook was 97th with 23:52, Willie Clark was 101st with 25:08, and Will Wallis was 102nd with 25:09. November 1, 2008 - STATE TOURNAMENT
On Saturday, the State Cross Country Championships was held at Scioto Downs in Columbus. Representing Sidney High School was Aaron Dinzeo, competing as an individual against 16 schools and 144 total runners. In a time of 16:00, Aaron finished 14th overall, earning him All-Ohio honors. In addition, because of Aaron's outstanding academic success, he was also rewarded with Academic All-State honors. This is a tremendous accomplishment for Aaron and for Sidney High School. October 18, 2008 - DISTRICT TOURNAMENT
Sidney 6th at 140
On Saturday, October 18th, Sidney High School Boy's and Girl's Cross Country teams competed in the Southwest Ohio District Tournament at Miami Valley Career Technical Center. Both races proved to be the best race performance for the year with each team averaging their best team time. The Boys Team finished 6th overall with an average team time of 17:48. Aaron Dinzeo finished 5th overall in a time of 16:32, next was Killian Gray in 19th with a time of 17:15, Danny Blindauer in 34th with 17:59, Luke Roberts in 35th with 18:00, Eric Hockaday in 47th with 19:14, Mark Mullen in 49th with 19:26, and Jon Clinard in 51st with 19:32. October 11, 2008 - Greater Western Ohio Conference Championship

Our men's team finished 3rd overall in the North Division with Aaron Dinzeo placing 3rd at 16:33 and earning First Team All-Confrence Honors!! Killian Gray came in 8th at 17:20 and earned Second Team All-Confrence Honors! Coming in next was Luke Roberts at 17:57 and placing 16th, Danny Blindauer was 26th at 19:01, Jon Clinard was 29th at 19:08, Eric Hockaday was 31st at 19:32, Wesley Jones was 32nd at 19:34, Mark Mullen was 33rd at 19:37, Cole DeNise was 34th at 20:00 and Thomas Minniear was 36th at 22:27. Awesome run, guys! In the Reserve race Dillion Bundy finished 17th overall with a time of 20:54! In the Boys Varsity race 194 runners competed and our very own Aaron Dinzeo finished first with a time of 16:02. Incredible! Coming in strong after Aaron was Killian Gray, finishing 33rd with a time of 17:17, Luke Roberts was 94th with 18:19, Danny Blindauer was 104th with 18:31, Mark Mullen in 143rd with 19:16, Phil Cook in 148th with 19:24, Jon Clinard in 153rd with 19:33, Eric Hockaday in 158th with 19:41, Cole DeNise in 174th with 20:00, and Thomas Minniear in 179th with 20:15. In the Boys Junior/Senior Open race John Braun finished 117th with a time of 22:22, Zach Dyer finished 120th with 22:32, Matt Cole was 124th with 22:50 and Caleb Stapleton finished 136th with 24:06.
Finally, in the Boys Freshman/Sophomore open Wesley Jones finished 86th with 20:02, Dillion Bundy was 106th with 20:19, Dru Olding was 165th with 21:26, Grant Evans was 174th with 21:34, Riley Rosengarten was 201st with 21:59, Austin Bui was 210th with 22:13, John Cook was 247th with 24:10, Alex Hale was 249th with 24:16 and Willie Clark was 260th with 26:21. Congratulations to the Sidney Cross Country Teams for an outstanding performance at the Greenville City Invitational this past Saturday. The Greenville Invitational is the second largest Cross Country invite in the state of Ohio with 3,000 runners who compete.

In the boy's varsity race the Team placed 9th overall with an average Team time of 18:10. There were 206 runners in the race and leading the Boy's Team was Aaron Dinzeo who finished in 7th place with a time of 16:39. Killian Gray placed 31st with 17:49, Luke Roberts 76th with 18:35, Thomas Minniear 90th with 18:48, Danny Blindauer 100th with 18:58, Jack VanHorn 110th with 19:15, Bob Brun 157th with 20:12. Way to go Jackets!

The boy's reserve race had 310 runners. Congratulations to the Yellow Jacket Cross Country teams for strong performances at the Shelby County Preview last night! The meet was held in Anna and featured all 8 of the Shelby County Schools.
