Sidney 14 Piqua 0
The Sidney 8th football team defeated the Piqua Indians last night
14-0. Antwone Thomas rushed for two touchdowns and Ben Ernst added
the extra points. Brad Jones recovered a fumble and Chris Terry
had an interception. Grady Hoellrich, Zac Johnson, and Zac Micheal,
each had 5 tackles apiece.

Sidney 6 Wayne 12
The Sidney 8th grade football team faced the Wayne Warriors, in
a defensive struggle. Wayne scored on their first drive of the 2nd
quarter. Sidney answered with a magnificent 65 yard touchdown run
by Antwone Thomas. The game stayed tied at 6-6, until Wayne recovered
a fumbled punt snap for a touchdown. The final score was Wayne 12
and Sidney 6. Sidney’s defense turned in an impressive performance
by shutting down the explosive Wayne offense. Zach Micheal had a
50 yard kick and Jerrod Ricky had an interception.

Sidney 36 Piqua 0
The 7th Grade football team defeated Piqua last night 36-0. The
defense posted it's third shut out of the season behind Darian Ginter's
10 tackles. Aaron Burns had 9 tackles to go along with 4 quarterback
sacks. Ben Doak and RJ Heinz had 7 and 6 tackles respectively. The
offense was led by Colin Beer's 103 passing yards on 9 of 16 passes
and three touchdown passes. Jarad Sowders caught 2 touchdowns including
a 33 yarder in the second quarter. Daniel Ocke also had a touchdown
reception. Ocke led in receiving yards with 43 on 4 receptions.
RJ Heinz had a 22 yard TD run in the 4th quarter to cap the scoring
for the Yellow Jackets. Beer scored the other touchdown from 2 yards
out in the first half. Sidney improves their record to 2-3-1, and
plays it's final game of the season next Wednesday at 5:30 when
they host Trotwood-Madison.

Butler 0
The first scoring drive was capped with a one yard touchdown run
by R.J. Heinz to make it 6-0 Sidney. The second scoring drive was
finalized by another one yard touchdown run by Collin Beer to make
it 12-0 Sidney. The two point conversion (Collin Beer to Chris Goings)
made it 14-0 Sidney. We had over 100 yards rushing. GREAT JOB OFFENSIVE
LINE AND RUNNING BACKS! This is the second week in a row Sidney
has held an opponent scoreless. Two interceptions (Chris Goings-1,
Jarred Sowders-1) highlighted the defensive effort. Darian Ginter
had a quarterback sack for an eight yard loss. GREAT JOB BY THE
JACKET'S DEFENSE! |
